Course Description

These are our Accounting & Business Enterprise Qualification which include progression to University degrees. They also provide progression from levels 3 to 8 and were developed with input from colleges, higher education institutions and sector skills councils.

Including a range of optional units at every level these qualifications allow centres and learners to specialise in different areas whilst using the mandatory units to develop core knowledge required by all managers.

Course Overview

The objective of the UKAP Level 3 Diploma in Accounting & Business Enterprise qualification is to provide learners with an in depth understanding of the operations and structure of Accounting & Business Enterprise. Successful completion of this qualification will equip learners with the underpinning knowledge and skills required to succeed in employment or further studies.

Equivalences

UKAP qualifications at QCF Level 3 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to GCE AS/A Levels.

Entry Requirements

UKAP Level 3 qualifications can be offered to learners from age 16. UKAP does not specify entry requirements for these qualifications. UKAP ensures that learners admitted to the programme have sufficient capability at the right level to undertake the learning and assessment criteria.

UKAP Centre must ensure learners are recruited with integrity onto appropriate qualifications that will meet their needs, enable and facilitate learning and achievement enable progression. The qualification is offered in English.

English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency

UKAP qualifications at QCF Level 4 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Year 1 Undergraduate Degree, HNC, Level 4 Certificate/ Diploma

The objective of the UKAP Level 5 Diploma in Accounting & Business Enterprise at UKAP, you’ll learn about the preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial information that enables investors, lenders, management, employees, government and others to make effective decisions.

You’ll also learn how to read and interpret accounting information in the annual reports of businesses and the financial information within the public sector, and become familiar with the principles and practice of presenting information to those who manage all types of organisations.

Accounting at UKAP is fully accredited by Higher Learning Commission of UK and DETC accrediting body in the majority of study combinations, as well as offering possible exemptions to other professional bodies, eg Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Business Enterprise can only be studied as a second subject as a joint Honours option

Equivalences

UKAP qualifications at RQF Level 5 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Foundation Degrees, Higher National Diploma (HND) and Year 2 of a three-year UK Bachelor’s degree.

  • The UKAP Level 5 Diploma in Accounting & Business Enterprise consists of 6 mandatory units for a combined total of 120 credits, 1200 hours Total Qualification Time (TQT) and 480 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) for the completed qualification.

English Requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.

The objective of the UKAP Level 6 Diploma in Accounting & Business Enterprise at UKAP, you’ll learn about the preparation, presentation and interpretation of financial information that enables investors, lenders, management, employees, government and others to make effective decisions.

In business law, you’ll study commercial law and business legal regulations. These include company law, competition law and human rights law.

Business law can only be studied as a second subject as a joint Honours option.

The qualification is ideal for those who have started, or are planning to move into, a career in private or public sector. Successful completion of the Level 6 Diploma in Business Management qualification will provide learners with the opportunity to progress to further study or employment.

UKAP qualifications at RQF Level 6 represent practical knowledge, skills, capabilities and competences that are assessed in academic terms as being equivalent to Bachelor’s Degrees with Honours, Bachelor’s Degrees, Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates.

Entry Requirements

Level 7

For entry onto the Level 8 Diploma qualification, learners must possess:

A Master’s degree in related subject, Bachelor’s degree, UK level 6 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification

Learners must be 22 years or older at the beginning of the course

Learner must have 5 years of working experience in the relevant field.

UKAP Centre must ensure learners are recruited with integrity onto appropriate qualifications that will meet their needs, enable and facilitate learning and achievement enable progression. The qualification is offered in English.

English requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country must provide evidence of English language competency.

Entry Requirements

For entry onto the Level 8 Diploma qualification, learners must possess:

A Master’s / MS degree in related subject, Bachelor’s degree, UK level 7 diploma or an equivalent overseas qualification

Learners must be 24 years or older at the beginning of the course

Learner must have 18 years of working experience in the relevant field.

UKAP Centre must ensure learners are recruited with integrity onto appropriate qualifications that will meet their needs, enable and facilitate learning and achievement enable progression. The qualification is offered in English.
